STAD bedeutet “Shut Them All Down” – oder (im bayerischen Dialekt) ‘leise, still’.
Das Programm kann über ein Netzwerk eine beliebige Zahl von Rechnern mit Windows 2000 oder XP-Betriebssystem herunterfahren oder neu starten. Mein Programm ist quasi ein Front-End für das Windows-Kommandozeilentool “shutdown.exe”.
Short English abstract: STAD is used to shut down or reboot a great number of Windows 2000/XP PCs (e.g. all the computer rooms of a school) over a network with just a few clicks. STAD means ‚Shut Them All Down‘ – and is an adjective in Bavarian dialect that means ’silent‘. The program should be straightforward enough, as it is only a kind of front-end for the Windows command line tool ‘shutdown.exe’. The computer names are loaded from a CSV file that you must create first, using OpenOffice or MS Excel.
